Scale no more...

Eating right and getting healthy isn’t always just about weight loss. I know in the past, weight loss- was the first thing that pop into my mind whenever somebody said they were trying to “Get Healthy”. Just like- Getting in shape doesn’t have to mean losing weight. Looking fit is different than looking thin.
Here are other things a scale will NOT tell you…

·         A scale isn’t going to tell you if you are healthy.
·         A scale isn’t going to tell you your muscle tone.
·         A scale isn’t going to tell you your worth.
·         A scale isn’t going to tell you your strength.
·         A scale isn’t going to tell you how you feel inside.
·         A scale isn’t going to tell you if your gut is healthy.
·         A scale isn’t going to tell you if you are living your best life.
·         A scale isn’t going to tell you if you are eating enough fruits and veggies.
·         A scale isn’t going to tell you how well you feel.
·         A scale isn’t going to tell you how your clothes fit.
·         A scale isn’t going to tell you how beautiful you really are.

How many times have you started a journey of getting in shape or getting healthy and been a slave to the scale? Weighing yourself in the morning after a poop and then again at night. All the while lamenting because you “only” lost 2 lbs. and then gained 5 lbs. back at the end of the day.

Not everyone is meant to be a size 2! Or a size 4. Or 6. Or 8. Or 10. Maybe, YOU are the best YOU in a size 14- but you are healthy, happy and living your best life!

Stop making yourself crazy. Kick the scale to the curb like a bad boyfriend. You deserve better! You are better! You are amazing!

My first born....

I know as parents we are supposed to inspire our children. However, sometimes our children inspire us. I haven’t always been the best parent. I have made some costly mistakes. I was young, naive, selfish and plain clueless. When I watch my daughter raise her little family. I am inspired by her honesty, ambition, energy, and courage in which she approaches daily life. I love the way she laughs at things and doesn’t take them too seriously. She is a phenomenal mother. A loving, supporting, and encouraging wife. Today, my daughter is everything I wanted to be at her age, and she is everything I aspire to be today. What I love most about her- she is confident, strong, forgiving, relentless, kind and most of all that she is my first born.....
